Cara Clark

(Lead Occupational Therapist, MOTR/L)

Cara’s journey with Flourishing Lives began as a fieldwork student in 2013, which quickly ignited her love for this practice, and she became part of the administration team while she was still in graduate school. In 2014, she became an occupational therapist with the company. Cara attended Michigan State University for undergraduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies for Health Science with a minor in Anthropology. She then went on to attend Wayne State University, earning a second bachelor’s degree in Health Science and her master’s in Occupational Therapy.

Cara has extensive training in feeding with infants through adults, which has led her to curate our personalized approach to feeding, ensuring that each feeding client is looked at individually and their treatment plan is reflective of their feeding needs. She also has a background in trauma, providing her with the skill set needed to provide compassion and empathy and promote confidence and resilience within her clients to meet their goals while in a safe environment. Cara’s extensive knowledge about sensory integration, combined with a holistic approach, helps to cultivate growth through play-based interventions to address the underlying skills needed for success in daily life.

Outside of work, Cara is a native of Michigan with a secondary home in Florida. She loves music and dancing and is a former dance instructor, teaching a wide range of students at a recreational level, competition level, and special needs classes. She has a loving husband, and they have two wonderful dogs they love spoiling. Cara loves to read, write, and be creative with art and makeup. Cara thoroughly enjoys cooking and baking, especially when creating and sharing recipes with others. She has a passion for learning new things, cultivated by her travels around the world (13 countries and counting!). Cara is an avid Disney Adult and has a love for Harry Potter (she’s a Ravenclaw). She loves nothing more than curling up on the couch with her dogs to read a good book.
