(COTA/L)
I graduated from Mott Community College in 2018 and began my occupational therapy career in acute care, where I worked for six months before transitioning to outpatient neurological rehabilitation. Over the past five and a half years, I have had the opportunity to work with individuals recovering from neurological conditions, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life. My experience has strengthened my clinical reasoning skills and taught me to approach each patient’s challenges with creativity and individualized solutions.
What I love most about occupational therapy is witnessing the moment when a patient realizes they can do something they once thought was impossible. Whether it’s dressing independently, standing to hug a loved one, opening a container, or completing another meaningful daily task, seeing that spark of confidence return is what fuels my passion for this profession. My background in neurological rehabilitation has given me the ability to identify functional challenges from multiple perspectives and develop creative, engaging treatment approaches that help each patient reach their goals.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors whenever I can. Some of my favorite activities include snow skiing, hiking, camping, boating, and exploring nature. I also cherish spending time with my young son and my large family, and we make it a priority to gather for weekly family dinners whenever possible. When I’m ready to relax, you’ll often find me curled up on the couch enjoying a good movie.
