Alea Thayer
(M.A. CCC-SLP)
I first became interested in speech pathology after my mom had a coworker seeking the same degree. I wasn’t sure what career I wanted to pursue, so I decided to give it a shot, and after taking an intro class, I was certain this was the path I wanted to take. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences in Disorders at CMU before completing my graduate education at WSU, moving away from my small town and family up north for the first time. Since the, I have gained experience working at various outpatient pediatric clinics. Throughout my experience, I have found my passion working with the neurodiverse population. As an individual with ADHD herself, I’m a huge advocate for use of neuro-affirming practices and love helping my clients get the supports they need. There is nothing I find more rewarding than helping my clients find their voice, no matter what modality that entails. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, relaxing at the lake, watching every rom-com in existence, reading, and exploring new places.
